its not just the bitrate
but the freqency sampling range also(I know the human ear is meant to only be able to perceive certain frequencies and allegedly it makes no difference

but thing about the various audio formats is that none of them quite sound like the real thing you just have to choose what best suits your ear. I was just pointing out that you don't have to wait for the CD to get the benefits of a higher bit-rate there are places to download them . Incidentally I always rip at 320k (though I'm not convinced my ears can still hear the difference)
