Postby superduper on Mon May 21, 2007 7:54 pm

You click on Eurobabetalk on Google, you get - account suspended. What has happened ? Has it not been paid up ?

I do!
Because I stored a lot of porn info there in the past.

now there is another question: Is there any possible way to save and transfer it still to the new forum?

EBT has lots of stuff

Postby superduper on Mon May 21, 2007 9:28 pm

EBT has lots of stuff from the past, much more than there is at EBI forum, because it was there for much longer - so it would not be good to lose it all.

Generally, accounts are suspended for going over the bandwidth limit set by the host, not because of financial considerations.

For someone who is attempting to sell the domains though, this is not a good sign. The googlebot would only take a week or so to pick up on the suspension and have it appearing on the search pages.

Also, Alexa averages the results over a period of three months and any significant dip can drop a site under 100k making it lose its nice pretty graphs, etc.

The server was kinda crap anyway to be honest. I tried about 20 times to download the database from EBT and it always timed out at around 80mb (whereas I think the db is around 120mb). I have all the post information, but could not get the usernames or the topic headers and therefore could not recreate the site (user table is the penultimate one to download). So nothing is lost, but how the heck you can recreate thousands of posts without the topic name or who posted is beyond me....

Cheers

Maybe just make it available as one big pond of information searchable by keywords. Thats still better than all posts and all the info lost.

WE don't have a copy of the database, but obviously Russell does.

Most, if not all, of that info was contributed by EBI users and as a matter of fact it was me and Frigo (and later our mods too) who ran the board and did all the work, and IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EBI'S FORUM TOO, so don't make comparisons.

I never said the posts there are not valuable, I said I don't care. Should I?

If Russell had acted as a gentleman he just would have asked and then shared the database with us anyway.

EBT and WPS both back

Postby superduper on Tue May 22, 2007 9:41 am

EBT and WPS are restored this morning, which is good - so it was the bandwidth problem.

It seems Russell is not popular here.
