It's not the FREE downloads on the first place but the Downloads in general, I mean subscription, PPD and VOD.

They're struggling because they can't keep up with the changes, not because they are extensively pirated. If you have a look on a torrent toplist, the first 10 titles will be Teravision, Evil Angel, etc. (apart from a few home and amateur flicks) not these. They are going down because their product or business model is crap, nothing else.
I don't say piracy is not a big issue, it is, but so far piracy is not the reason to go down to any company, because the more you sell the more will be pirated, that's equation and vice versa, if your titles are the top torrents, that means you must sell a lot
But true, the business is getting tougher, the market is overflooded, the Dollar is crap, etc. I don't think you'll see a new Larry Flynt or Hef or Bert Milton in the near future (I mean someone who starts from scrap and becomes a billionaire from this business).

You are right ...but also there is a generalized worldwide crisis ...also DVD is changing to BlueRay format...Downloading is the quickest thing(although never will have the quality of a DVD or Blueray movie)...more people everyday use computer to watch porn instead of TV...pirate downloading.........and the worst thing in my opinion is:anyone can upload and dowload AMATEUR HOMEMADE PORN FOR FREE,so many people (that used to buy porn) don´t need to buy porn in any format ...few years ago that was imposible

Yes, many things would be impossible a few years ago, for example i wouldn't be able to shoot in HD quality with a $1000 camera, setup a website in 2 hours from scratch to a working "order now" button, get 6000 GB server bandwidth for $9/month, etc...
Regarding free amateur homemade porn: yes, it's a new segment, but it won't kill porn, it's a special taste. I don't think AssTraffic or Digital Playground is affected by the homemade porn flood, coz you'll never see a girl like Tera Patrick, Clara G or whoever is your favorite EB doing free homemade porn. I have read rumors that ISPs will be limiting bandwidth usage by their customers in the future, and that various anti-piracy agencies in some governents may start shutting down or limiting some torrent and sharing sites (Rapidshare, in particular). Is there anything to these rumors?

If there is, the DVD may see a resurgence.

I was on a conference in Hollywood a few weeks ago and there was an anti-piracy discussion where Evan Seinfeld (CEO Teravision) said a new kind of alliance is forming between mainstream film business, the music business (which been hit the hardest of all genres by piracy) and ISPs and they are open to join forces (and money) with the porn industry against piracy. They say they hope they will be able to shut down RapidShare in a few months and also some of the biggest torrent sites. ISPs are in a difficult situation anyway, take for example Time-Warner, they are in both the film, the music and the ISP business through their vast cable network. What makes more money to TW? If they help eliminate piracy by blocking certain ports or sites or limiting bandwidth, they might loose customers who will opt for a "free" ISP instead of TW. And the competition always will create "free" ISPs, even if the big networks buy out the smaller ones. So they going to loose customers and not just for their internet service but maybe on the home phone and the cable front too. That could cost TW a solid $100 and up per month per customer. Will the customer spend this $100 on TW products (movies, music), I don't think so. So eventually they won't block users but they will fight half-heartedly against share and torrent sites.

There are so much more upload hosts. They have to shut down the biggest share forums also. But i think, if they will shut down one forum then two others will rise in a few minutes.
Don't you have noticed, you can download nearly every full movie for free from the net, if you search for it (and you don't have to search hard). Same with the clips from pay sites. The most bad thing for the idustrie is that you can download everything a few days after release dates finally.
This should not harm the industries ?
Studios need to find a solution against piracy quickly or it will kill more producers.

And don't ask me, if i have ever downloaded something for free, of course i have done, because it's for free! Who has not ?

I think limiting bandwidth is the dumbest thing ever thought out by ISPs.
They cant make money from slow internet.
On the contrary I think the future in the motion picture business lies in HD movie downloads with good prices via fast internet connections provided by ISPs. Blueray, even any other physicaly distributed media will be always more expensive and not so responsive in the distribution. The solution is not to make better securities, more locked down sites, and what not, but in clever business plan which will positively adress the customers and wont bring the company down in the first month. And also to bring from time to time with some new ideas, too many companies are relying on their model too long. See them above for example...
