Page scrolling

This is probably a daft query so please have patience with me!
I prefer to have photos within the thread rather than having to click on links. However, sometimes there are lots of photos within a page (yes, I am guilty of it) that it can take a bit of time to load. I tend to click on the 'View the latest post' icon from a subforum but sometimes it can take a few seconds to get to it as the page loads & auto-scrolls. Is there a way for the page to take you straight to the latest post but still keep loading the page upwards instead of auto-scrolling? Would this be PHP or browser specific?
Sorry, does this make sense? I know it's trivial, but I was thinking it may be an issue for those with slow connections.

I often hit the esc key to stop the page loading and jump to the end for similar reasons.

Thanks guys, but I know how to stop it. I just thought there'd be another way without having to. I only have one hand free you know!

Yeah, what a freak!

The page formats as it's loaded, cos the pics size isn't fixed, I think it could be worked around with a link to the last post, maybe there's a mod for that, if the option isn't there already. Of course you can simply read the latest post without even opening the thread.
