I have a few questions concerning the pics we fans upload here:

How long do they stay?
I recently realized a JYL dvd cover I had upleaded for info and ID reasons about half a year ago had gone.

How is that "picture viewed" number counted?
i.e. in my Melissa Black thread in the EBI Stars forum section I have now about 333 thread views, but only 70-130 uploaded picture views.
Are these picure views counted as soon as somebody saves the giveen picture to his own harddisk only? or what?

I don't know about the count but no pic is removed by us, by auto-pruning, I mean. So it's the external server that removes the pix.

I have no idea. Where the pix you're talking about stored on an image server or just hotlinked?

Or were they attachments? In which case we should wait for Frigo/Nop/Stem/White's more competent opinion. But you just should just max out your allowed attachment quota, pictures shouldn't get auto pruned or overwritten.

Strange thing.
In my German license thread I posted a few German dvd covers to faciliate finding the originals - and after I few months they were all gone.
But I dont blame anybody. I just try to understand what happened.



Btw, also if somebody knows the answer to the counting question, please tell me.

(Btw, how about the view counts?)

I am not sure about the counts. maybe those who have it in browser cache already do not count anymore on picture view but when re-opening they do count for thread views?!
