As you write yourself more people are open these days. It`s sure due to porn haveing turned into kind of a lifestyle thing with the younger generation. I`ve recently seen a shop selling all from streatwear, to latex and porn dvds situated nicely shopping hall and not hidden away at all. It`s that hedonistic generation giving some hope for porn to reach a much wider audience. I also see much more girls in sexshops these days than a few years back - and they dont only shop for dildoes and lingerie, but Ass Traffic dvds and other Evil Angel and 21 Sextury stuff.

Still, your posts suggest these prude people you meet are still important to you, bugging you.
I`d see it the way you wrote. They probabely live a boring life depraved of lust and real women worshipping. It`s their problem basically. The only problem I see is them being so powerful upon society. :(
For being "part of the system" - of course we porn consumers are part of it. And fine so! Becasue with our money we can guide what is produced, how it`s produced and who of these very marginal producers we simply dont support because they are actually degrading women. Just please get it even - I am not talking of of Rocco or Raul, Skeeter or del Torro here. There is a huge difference between giving space for performers lust (male and female of course!) and reducing it just to the directors lust only. But of course mainstream TV always takes the latter. Mysogynic mainstream tv morons! :x

Yes, I agree. On the other hand, as a 50 year old guy I can tell you that we live in an imperfect world and that there are no rewards for correct behaviour. When I date a woman I do my best to be friendly and respectful, but the result is almost always disappointing. Perhaps women see respect and friendliness as a weakness in men, and it triggers their "princess" module?

I doubt it...
Since when i can remember to have started looking after girls I've rarely put
up any filters when dealing with them, ok my fault, but as such i've been
friendly at times and rude at others...and the success rates haven't varied a lot.
With those that were already interested in me anyway i scored...
with the others i've got dumped.

The truth is that the idea we (mens) have any
control on this sort of chasin' game is merely an illusion

I didnt mean that this way, Xenomorgue. :o
Personal relations of this kind are too complex to be phrased in respect/disrespect I`m afraid.
I was just talking general attitude of man towards women, especially in the porn and porn discussing context. To me disrespecting women is attacking those who choose it to do sexwork and enjoy its fruits. Looking down on porn and its consumers as UKDave discribed is indirectly disrespecting women, too.

robot, I know working with girls from the sex industry can be very hard sometimes, but because of this to deny women their choice to work exactly there and to do with their body exactly what they want, is way too much! :x
Or are you really one of those prudes, too?! :o

:D i think you're narrowing down the options to what you choose to imagine... it is endearing to imagine your fave airhead fuckdoll willingly choosing her career path as a dirty blonde fuckmeat puppet, but the truth to the matter is, she's too dimwitted to have any other means of living :)

true, some are terribly attractive, whether as a person and as a woman, or both, but I have yet to meet one who's not damaged goods, unfortunately.

but hey. we digress. call the thread-hijack police. "laura" and "caroline" must resume their philosophical banter asap.. make room for the female few!

I find some of those last comments and i little unfair. Just because these gorgeous women choose to fuck for a livin doesnt mean they are of low intelligence or dim witted. And are they all damaged goods or just the ones who claim porn ruined them! X

Jesus Hare Brain, you have nurtured quite an attitude about those who make your chosen profession possible. Airheads & dimwits abound for sure (as in society at large), but i know of plenty of girls who defy that stereotype. I'm not sure how far off the intelligence profile of porn0babes would really be from that of the general population. Sure, it's the best money many of these girls could hope to make, taking advantage of their natural (and not-so-natural) endowments, but for some i think porn is really kind of an eccentric vocation.. Nothing says nymphos & exhibitionists are inherently stupid.

BTW we're all damaged goods to some degree, aren't we?

yawn, my god, the old cliche, again and again, repeated ad infinitum.
But every forum has his mascot........

But a little truth gleams in every cliche, most of the east european countries have a sort of shock capitalism, social systems are thin or almost not existing. So many women enter the x-rated biz, who maybe hadnt done it, if they were living in Scandinavia,Switzlerland, or the BeNeLux states, where the social systems are very developed.

But if you look at Denmark of the 70s and 80s, or the NLs of the 80s and 90s, they had extremley developed social systems AND a lot of girls entered the porn biz. And back to the I.Q., there are quite a lot of intelligent porn girls around, even in the USA, just look at ADT.

Dont judge the Rabbit too harshly.. I think he must be suffering from professional burnout or something. I think that shoot with Doris/Aletta must have got to him. But he's right to burst the bubble of our fantasies and illusions occasionally. Its all about the idolization of gorgeous starlets and the fetishization of extreme sex acts around this place. But some well-informed perspective on all this helps keep it real. I mean porn for me, as i've come to realize, is an entertaining hobby, but when it becomes obsessive & distorted, it's like any pernicious addiction...

Most astute observation, Caroline. I dont really have any interest in the nitty-gritty of porn-finance, but the macro-economic issues are pretty clear. There are as well the social & cultural factors to be considered, such as the effects of 50 years of statist-socialism on the family, religion & other traditional petite-bourgeois ideological factors. I mean how can we account for the fact that such a tiny nations as Hungary & Czech have produced so many top international performers in this new century? Add the incontrovertible native beauty of the women, and you have the "perfect storm" for a porn juggernaut.

I dont know enough about the personal backgrounds or native intelligence of our East European lovelies, so i'm left holding the bag to defend American talent once again. Economic disadvantage certainly drives a lot of girls into the biz and also accounts for the poor educational background of most. (Of course the prime porn years are also the time for higher eduction (for which, sadly, most young Americans are poorly prepared for anyway.) I know the US talent pool is chock full of mindless, drug-addled lost sheep: vacuous bimbos, borderline minds & personalities, sociopaths and not a few psychos. On the other hand, there are plenty of intelligent, artistically gifted & business savvy girls out there too.

Look at Sasha Grey, for example, brought up in a poor "white trash" environment, with little hope for a fulfilling life, she bootstrapped herself thru porn into a formidable artistic and intellectual young woman. Could she have done this at university? Well i suppose so, but she had other motivations, like fame and libido, which would have been frustrated at school. Sure she's exceptional, even unique, but she's hardly the only performer out there defying the stereotype.

i was bashing one particular person, but hey, feel free to misread and misinterpret :)
feel free to toss whatever i said on top of the cliche pile, along with the "hooker with the heart of gold" and the others pre-conceptions.
i'm not good at convincing people, i'm much better at starting fights and abusing my mascot privileges, which I intend to do as I please :D
another thing i m good at: paranoia, and oddly enough, some people here share this trait with me when it comes to you, "caroline".

My dear robot,
Did I say sexworkers were all golden people, 100% caring, 100% intelligent, 100% social, ideal etc.? - No! The only thing I said is that according to me every women has the undeniable right to choose her job herself and do with her body herself what she wants; and that people denying her that choice are misogynists in my understanding.
I well know there is a lot of pathalogy and abuse going on in these fields, especially the non porn sex work, I know some of those women by no means do it on their free will. But those who wish should do it, and not be dispised!

I am really surprised how much conservative and prude people I already met amonst porn professionals, performers as well as agents, cutters, cameramen. :o
(Does doenst include you yet - I am not that fast in judging people)

I hope this was tongue in cheek because it's a little out of order.
Yes, some may be dim, there's some dim people in high positions of power. Dim people everywhere.
Just because a woman chooses to do porn doesn't make her less of a person. If she can earn more in a month than someone in an ordinary job can in a year, then who's the dimwitted one? Yes, there may be some downsides involved but it's a woman's right to choose. If she's doing it just for the money for her future, then good on her. If she really enjoys the sex as well then even better.
I agree that there will always been some damaged goods, whether the girl came into porn that way or during/after her time in the biz. This doesn't mean we should disrespect them.
