The really crazy thing about Berlusconi is, that bad as he is, corrupt as he is, he's been less bad than the priors. Sheesh. Gotta be that mafia influence. At least 35% of the Italian economy was underground the last time I looked it up- the highest in the western world.

This last time it could have been the communist woman that could have turned things into another Spain. You want corrupt, look at what's happened since the bombings in spain since the populace there decided to change the government on the basis. The "intelligence challenged" intelligencia of Spain let them go this week in the hopes of what the Russians used to "feeding the wolf" or somesuch. The idea is that when confronted by a pack of wolves, instead of shooting them, you just feed them so that they eat you last.
