sbando wrote:By the way, when you asked about Frisell I didn't cheat, as you obviously did for Forget Ne Nots :D .

I didn't know about George sampling it but i recognized it at the end...
And Patrice Rushen was a curiosity i knew since i've heard "Man in Black" great bass line
Will Smith has cannibalized everything from James Brown to the Missing Persons

Being a "metal head" back in the days i've never really been a big fan of George's music but the talent was clearly there...
And opposed to many top "Pop Stars" of the 80' he could go out on stage and sing great.

That's not fair...
Jaco, Alphonso Johnson and Stanley Clarke all in the same post.
You seriously want me to quit playing bass

Has Frisell more mainstream collaborations I'm not aware of?

Good question...
I remember he did some other works with David Sylvian for sure.
But right now i can't recall wich songs or wich album he's in...

Had forgot about this one:
http://www.discogs.com/Mathilde-Santing-Out-Of-This-Dream/release/568549

I've been looking for this cd for almost 2 decades now.
Frisell plays banjo in the cover of Tempted, the song by Squeeze!

Ryuichi Sakamoto - Virgin Tracks
David Sylvian - Dead Bees On A Cake
David Sylvian - Everything And Nothing
Caetano Veloso - Estrangeiro
Laura Veirs - Troubled By The Fire

not counting "Para Não Contrariar Voce" from The Ambitious Lovers' "Greed".
I found it on YT!

Bring Sammy Hagar back!!!
That was pretty awful (the music, not the link), despite the mega tune and the talent involved. Also, Vai fits in as Belew playing for Backstreet Boys. Or Talking Heads. No, wait...
