We all love sauerkraut and bratwurst here and we listen to ausgezeichnete bands wie Einstuertzende Neubauten and Kraftwerk. Toll !

"Kraftwerk" and "Einstürzende Neubauten" - why bands like that are the first names you get when you think about german music? I mean they are not bad. They inspired Autechre and Aphex Twin. At the moment I like Cylob and Astrobotnia very, very much. The new Autechre album "Quaristice" sounds a bit like a boring chillout session from Plaid. But Plaid are not what Warp speaks about them. They aren´t so good as many people say. Mike Paradinas is good and Aphex Twin will always stay good. People like him we need. But Einstürzende Neubauten make industrial and they did a album with Christiane F. Blixa Bargeld, he lived for months together with Christiane in Kreuzberg, Berlin. Then her book came out and she was a star and that made Einstürzende Neubauten more famous than they were. As a child I liked them very much. Type O Negative, Megadeath, Pearl Jam and Guns N´ Roses were my heroes. But the music from today isn´t so interesting. We in germany have nothing special at the moment. Joy Division were so good. I wish we have in future again something like a real musicscene. At the moment we just have this superstar-shit everyone is talking about in america, england, spain, italy, french, germany and every other corner on this planet. You know, now, music just is about money. In the past music was about music, revolution and soul. Motown and vintage soul was also very good. Anita Baker and Gladys Night are really good soulsingers. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey can leave when Anita and Gladys start singing, you know, it was music. Real music. I don´t care if it´s deathmetal, IDM, 4AD, Gabber, Rock, Hip Hop, Techno or classic - it has to be real and authentic. But today it isn´t real and authentic at all. You just see sexy and beautiful models with a micro. Beautiful woman are nice, but when I want to feel emotional and hear music, I don´t want to see a girl that make´s me shake my dick! I want to listen to good music. When I want to see beautiful sexy woman I visit EuroBabeIndex and there I even see them naked!

When I think about contemporary german music first name that comes to my mind is Karlheinz Stockhausen...

I like Karlheinz Stockhausen. But he is mad. He said many times that he was born on another planet than earth. It´s logical that humans are not alone in universe, but Stockhausen wasn´t born on another planet. I guess without his freaked out music he would freak totally out. Creativity is the best when your souls feels like a stone that has broken in many pieces. That´s the reason so many people write poems and lyrical thoughts since thousands of years. Humans would be nothing without creativity, because it´s a way you can celebrate your broken feelings with writing lyrical poems or even about philosophy. I mean Friedrich Nietzsche and Immanuel Kant I read almost every day, and I find that they did a a pretty good job for many people who live today. We see what we can reach trough creativity (music, philosophy, poems, art, et cetera) and we learn trough creativity how to heal the broken human soul. We need to freak out sometimes. People that never freak out in a positive way get a weaker soul with every new day, because of the pressure. The most people drink and take other drugs, but drugs don´t help. What drugs give you, they take again from you. So at the end you are again on your own with your problems and your life, but we don´t live to feel like in a paradise. We live to learn something. The meaning of life is learning and you can learn from everything. Everyone and everything is a teacher. Person A is against black people and shows you that Adolf Hitler was a stupid person and person B shows you that sex is not everything in life because you are nothing when nobody is there who loves you. In germany, at the moment, many young people talk again about Adolf Hitler and how clever he was. At the moment in many german forums and on many channels on tv you see almost every day reports about Adolf Hitler and weeks ago we got a "Adolf Hitler-Comic", but many people, also on news-channel, they all find the Adolf Hitler Comic very nice. Also skinheads go more again on the streets in germany and slap people or even fight with guns and other things against them. America and the rest of the world doesn´t know much about germany - at this point in time. The last months germany got extremly against turkish and black people. Every day you hear fights in the news. You can´t go anymore in the daylight out of the house in germany.

I mentioned these band names for no other reason than that they sound very much German. I could just as easily have picked Rammstein or Nina Hagen.

Perhaps you are interested in knowing what my favourite German band is. It is Estampie, an ensemble for early music from Augsburg. I really like their interpretation of medieval music. Furthermore they have a fantastic vocalist in Sigrid Hausen (or Syrrah). The band members are also involved in the dark wave/electro project Qntal. I appreciate the music of Qntal (for example the CD "Ozymandias") but I tend to prefer Estampie, in particular the CD "Ondas".

Rammstein are nazis. They work also with producers that made videos for nazi-bands. Rammstein are totally shit and they have stupid lyrics.
