As I see it, there are indeed bands whose members have a neo-nazi or white supremacist background. These bands are usually qualitatively second grade; they openly flirt with Third Reich attributes and symbols (swastika); their CDs are underground (small labels); their lyrics are full of hatred and violence; their fan base is small but very loyal; they perform in local clubs and at right-wing concerts.
I just don't see how any of this applies to Rammstein. They are big, they are professional, their lyrics are not particularly racist but instead ambiguous and controversial. It is certainly possible that there are neo-nazis who like the band (e.g. for their bombastic, almost militaristic, metal sound and their macho posturing), but obviously the vast majority of the Rammstein fan base consists of ordinary people.
