You are NOT mistaken. Bound heat makes movies ( as you can see in the clips and pictures) in specially built studio sets, or recently in chateau locations (= expensive), designed costumes and props ( = expensive). It also uses high end models ( = also expensive) originally composed music ( did I say expensive?) and a full sound postproduction. Crew of about 25 and between 6 to 10 days to shoot ( the early movies even more)...

As you know a business can stay in business only if it is NOT constantly robbed. With downloads this was really easy and pirates were stealing and posting BH movies everywhere. So it was stopped.
