You cant generalize it, Ive met quite a lot of women haters, who watched porn, especially stuff like John Thompson, Max Hardcore etc.etc. Surprisingly almost never rape movies, these movies are still legal in the Netherlands. Most men who watched - of course - simulated rape movies, looked at this as a sort of fantasy play they NEVER want to relive in the real world.

But the porn genre is so diverse, that the general attacks of conservative feminists arent fair.
If I look at the majority of porn movies of Vivid or Wicked, they dont degrade women or show women as dumb and passive sex objects. The opposite is true and there are other labels, that have a very positive picture of strong and selfconfident women.

Nobody would equate Pierre Boulle and Raymond Chandler with sleazy fifth rate novelists, who even arent able to write a story that makes sense, or at least in coherent sentences.
But when bashing porn this is possible. Sadly, Gerard Damiano died two weeks ago.
"Fantasy" ( alternative title: "Fascination" ) is one of the most brilliant porn movies, because it works on many levels.

At the moment, porn movies of this quality are only (rarely) produced in Japan and South-Korea.
It would really help to boost the reputation of the porn movie genre, if at least some of the south-korean movies and some of the tamer japanese movies, would be distributed with english subtitles.
