Aye...somehow i knew there would have been some other Crimson's fan round here

I ordered the Japanese HD version of In The Court. I hope it will arrive, I've had 2 "lost" packages in January.
I'd love to buy the full collection but damn...

I never got into the "new" King Crimson very much. I can't stand Adrian Belew, even though he is much more controlled when he's with Fripp.

I saw Belew with Talking Heads in 1980 (there's a dvd documenting the concert in Rome, low quality, I don't know if it's an official release). Incredibly annoying, he ruined every song. I also believe that his theories about guitar playing during the Bowie period were bollocks. But I bet he was much better next to more demanding band leaders. 80's Bowie doesn't really count. And history has been far too kind with Remain In Light-era 'Heads. Now it is generally considered as a masterpiece but back then the extended band and the more abstract tracks didn't quite work, the 1980 tour is a testament to that. They turned into pseudo avant-garde and I don't think they were that good. After that they returned to the song format and I remember Jerry Harrison saying in interviews that he wasn't that fond of the abstractness of Remain In Light.

Belew is crazy...i mean you just look at him and you can see it clearly.
Anyway his work with Zappa on "Sheik Yerbouti" is great...
As are many of his works with King Crimson.
Yes he most probably needs someone who can steer him in the right direction, to get the
best out of him, but nonetheless he's a talented musician.

Hell i like when he does his harmonics tricks hitting hard the guitar whammy bar...
He gets those microtones dissonances that feels like the strings are "Frying" :D

Ok far from the best example song but...rock and roll !!!

Warren Cuccurullo used to play with Master Francesco too, right?

Man, the last time I saw that clip it was decades ago. He's a bit rockier in it, no avant-garde pretentions, nor theory of relativity applied to guitar playing nonsense.

Yeah that's the Belew i like...
He has to remember that he's a guitar player and not some kind of guru.

Yes Cuccurullo played with FZ too...don't remember wich album he's in.
And later in Missing Persons with FZ longtime drummer Terry Bozzio.
and also in Duran Duran.
I think he made a good work with all of them...sure he know his craft.

And talking about Bowie, Belew etc.
One of my favorite guitar player is Reeves Gabrels.
Stile similar to what Belew does in Pretty Pink Rose...

A very good work, solid albums, a great MTV Unplugged. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4URyDAsy2k

Don't get mad, but I hated Tin Machine :). Great players, ill-conceived project.

No getting mad...i only like this song and a couple others mainly for the guitar.
I agree for the rest...the record as a whole is quite forgettable.
Anyway the subsequent Gabrels works on Bowie's albums and live is great.

As you can see by my current signature...

Hey, I just bought the Classic Albums: Rio dvd!

Are you familiar with that series (originally a tv series)? Some episodes (Dark Side Of The Moon, Transformer, Black Album, Nevermind, Songs In The Key Of Life, Disraeli Gear and many more) offer great insight on how these masterpieces came to be.
