Facts: So far (17 posts) clean. Which is why I removed him from the newbies. On the other hand his 17 contributions are not that much full of content that I could rule out he is playing with us. Which is why I will be monitoring what he is doing with his new found ability to post without approval being needed.

I banned Yana.Rudenko2009 (permanent ban) because of advertising, and I banned IP range 58.213.215.* for 2 weeks.

Once that user joined (Feb. 27th) he was not yet active in the field of spam. If he would have tried to join today I would not have him activated, because of this:

btw, @sbando: This is a very helpful site. Some 60 to 80 percent of the daily new registrations I delete because they are already to be found there. Question is: Can maybe some of these tools be helpful for us?

There are many big phpBB boards that let open the registration (no ban of majors webmails or ISPs) and have no spammers because they use antispam/antibot mods for phpBB3.

I don't know how you set EBI board but maybe it's a better solution to stop wasting time to ban accounts, IPs, emails etc... and retarget time to thread/model card managing and contribution.

hummmm, I would say just list the spammers found. As long as they are Newbies they won´t do much harm, because nobody but us will see their posts before they get deleted. As for those already registered before we installed the Newbie procedure, you will find a small programm at the link to temerc.com which I gave above. Guess this should do to help big time.

qrst987 got a permanent ban for spamming/advertising.
Its IP range banned for 2 weeks.
Posts have been disapproved.
